Everyone had fun today. The rock cod bite was hot. Crew limits again. They caught one called a flag fish I have never seen one before. It could be a cartoon character. Maybe I’ll send the picture to Pixar. Regardless, you too will have fun. Call for booking your charter today.

A another great day of catching. I love saying that. Captain Ray and Deckhand JP took the charter boat fishing locally. The clients caught limits of a variety of rock fish. July 6th, 2018 Fishing Report

We fished locally today with great results of catching. I love to be able to say catching instead of fishing. The clients had crew limits of a variety of quality rock fish by morning. Thanks Nick and team Thanks Dan and son.

July 4th, 2018 Fishing Report

We went catching today. The morning charter went up the coast where the clients had crew limits of a variety of nice rock fish including a nice ling cod. Reese and his team will be back. July 1st, 2018 Fishing Report

The charter went up the coast for salmon where it paid off. The clients caught nice ones and left happy to head home to for BBQ’s at their various homes. Although sad it was the last salmon trip for 2018 we were glad to end it with some nice ones.

June 29th, 2018 Fishing Report

June 27th, 2018 Fishing Report

Another wide open trip. The charter was back in by early morning with crew limits of rock cod consisting of yellowtail, vermillion, boccacio, canneries and more. June 26th, 2018 Fishing Report

Our repeat clients could not be happier. Captain Ray and Deckhand Dave took them catching where they caught early crew limits by early morning. I’m told the boat needs a bigger ice chest. June 25th, 2018 Fishing Report

We love to say ‘today we went catching’ but that is exactly what the happened on today’s charter. The clients here on vacation had limits of a variety quality rock fish. Check out this nice ling cod. These fish are really ugly monsters from the sea but are the best for fish tacos or fish and chips or with lemon and butter in the oven. We have charters available. June 23rd, 2018 Fishing Report

Another great day of fishing with Go Fish Santa Cruz Charters. Our clients from Yuba City caught crew limits by 10am. They had various species of rock fish including vermillion, bicacio, widows, olives, canaries, green spot, brownies and coppers. There was an afternoon charter. The wind picked so they fished near shore where they caught olives, blues, blacks, olives and coppers. Thanks everyone for a great day of catching.

June 21st, 2018 Fishing Report

Our repeat customers fished near Davenport. They caught limits of a variety of rock fish. The whales put on a show. Captain Ray reports he had never seen a show like this. Today Captain JT took his customer from Mid County Auto Supply fishing for salmon. They fished out in front of Moss Landing and landed a nice one. It’s going on the BBQ for Father’s Day dinner. The whales are putting on a show. Thanks Todd and family.

Clients Jay and Breston from Pennsylvania fished again with us today. It was Breston’s graduation gift from his Grandfather. Captain JT and Deckhand JP took them to Moss Landing where they caught two nice salmon. The biggest fish Breston has ever caught. There we a lot of whales to entertain the folks from the East Coast. June 14th, 2018 Fishing Report

Today we fished an afternoon charter in the local reefs. The clients caught a variety of rock fish. They had flown in from Pennsylvania and that exactly what they wanted to do. They were happy and coming back for a morning trip to fish for Salmon.

Captain Ray reported really good weather and an adventure finding fish today. They fished a deep reef and caught some big rock fish. They moved to inside reefs to catch almost limits. Clients had enough fun to promise a return charter. Thanks everyone for a fun charter.

A great day on the bay. The whales put on a great show but we where out to catch fish which is exactly what we did. Today our charter fished an area off 5 mile beach. They had crew limits of a variety of quality rock fish including vermillion, bolinas, big coppers, olives and canaries by 10AM using squid for bait. May 5th, 2018 Fishing Report

Our customers fished for rock fish this morning off Natural Bridges. They caught limits of a variety of rock fish including blues, olives and blacks. Captain JT had them fish with shrimp flies and squid. Whales were breaching and putting on a great show. Thanks Mike and family for your second charter with us. We had a second charter in the afternoon. They caught all the rock fish they wanted and we brought them in. They had a blast including their kid who had a double hook-up first thing.  

May 4th, 2018 Fishing Report

We went up the coast at a deep reef and fished for rock fish. The customers landed 3 lingcods, some canaries, olives, browns and vermillion. The wind came up mid-day and we headed in. We have one seat open tomorrow. We are going to fish for salmon. Call for booking a charter.

May 2nd, 2018 Fishing Report

Our charter today was with customers that came in from Bakersfield. They fished at the Soquel Hole for salmon and three nice ones. The water and weather was nice. Everyone had a blast. Thanks Ben and team. We have charters available. Call for booking one.

April 29th, 2018 Fishing Report

The charter went catching today. They fished off of Davenport and caught 80 quality rock fish including canaries, green spots, belinies and coppers. They used used squid for bait. Everyone had a great time. You will too. Call for booking your charter.

April 28th, 2018 Fishing Report

We went on the hunt today looking for Salmon. We went up the coast and fished with no luck. We headed back down to the Soquel Hole with same results. Our full charter agreed we should go for rock fish. Back up to 5 mile. We caught a variety of good quality rock fish including green spotted, white belly, big brown, some BIG reds and 2 lingcod. April 26th, 2018 Fishing Report

The salmon fishing slowed today. We fished the Soquel Hole and caught one nice salmon and lost four. We are taking a day off tomorrow but will have reports for full charters the next 3 days. Watch for updates.

April 24th, 2018 Fishing Report

The Charter fished again at Mulligan’s. The salmon are on the bite. We did not get limits but the customers were very happy with the 5 nice salmon they landed. Too bad they lost 4 right at the boat. Other boats had early limits. We have charters available. Call for booking a great day on the bay.

April 23rd, 2018 Fishing Report

The Salmon bite was wide open today. We fished again the Mulligans area and had crew limits by early afternoon. Captain Ray said the salmon were biting on anything they put in the water. April 21st, 2018 Fishing Report

We fished near Mulligans today where the fishing was really active. The customers landed seven nice salmon ranging from 10-20 pounds. We had four shakers and lost three at the boat. We used purple haze hoochies in 200 feet of water. The weather and water was perfect here in the Monterey Bay. The Orca’s put on a show. Those killer whales are big! Thanks Robert and team. April 14th, 2018 Fishing Report

Today the customers wanted to fish for rock cod – so we did. They fished near Natural Bridges and caught almost limits of a variety of quality rock fish. The whales put on a show. April 12th, 2018 Fishing Report

We fished again at Mulligans where there was a lot of action. We landed 2 nice salmon, lost 4 to hungry sea lions, 2 shakers, and lost 2 at the boat. Bummer about the sea lions. April 11th, 2018 Fishing Report

Our Charter today fished at Mulligans where the bite was hot. The customers caught five nice salmon. Sorry to say we lost four. They were caught using anchovies and purple haze hoochies. December 2, 2017 Fishing Report

Today the Charter took Jenny, Joey, Josh and Jason out on a combo trip for crab and rock fish. You couldn’t find a nicer day here in the Monterey Bay. They first stopped and pulled crab pots. Jenny pulled the first pot. It was her first and had her pot had the most – 10 big beauties. The boat then went up the coast where they found fast limits of a variety of rock fish. Thanks Joey. December 1, 2017 Fishing Report

Our repeat customer Steve fished with some of his friends today. Captain JT took the charter up to the Davenport area where it was wide open. The water was a little bumpy in the morning but glass in the afternoon. They caught limits of a variety of rock fish. They stopped and pulled crab pots and got limits again. Crabs are big this year. Today we went catching. We fished near Davenport and caught limits of a variety of rock fish including a few nice vermillion and 7 ling cod up 12 pounds. Today was a great day of fishing. The boat fished right in front of Steamer Lane and caught limits of rock cod including a nice ling cod and vermillion. November 5, 2017 Fishing Report

Great fun today fishing with Daniel, his son and friends. Shane was on board who added to the fun. They fished the Wilder Ranch and Natural Bridges area and caught half limits of rock fish including olives, blues and blacks as well as one nice ling cod. Water was nice. Weather was beautiful. Everyone had a blast on the Charter today. The boat fished the South Rock area and moved to Natural Bridges area due to choppy water. Today the Charter fished near Wilder Ranch. There was a swell but the water was definitely fishable. The customers caught nice size lingcod and a variety of rock cod including blues, black, yellows. Our charter today fished deep off Natural Bridges. Stephanie, her family and friends caught almost limits of a variety of rock fish including 13 BIG yellows, some blues, some vermillion and 3 lingcod up to 12 pounds. September 17, 2017 Fishing Report

Today’s charter was with a family from Sonora. It was a fun day. Deacon told the deckhand he really wanted to catch a lingcod. He replied ‘ Well you better start reeling cause you have one’. September 3, 2017 Fishing Report

It was another day of great fishing here off the coast of Santa Cruz. We had early crew limits of a variety of rock cod. One customer wanted enough fish to feed a dinner party of 20-25 people tonight. No problem there. Everyone caught some big beautiful vermillion. Some may say ugly vermillion – but they were big. September 2, 2017 Fishing Report

Captain Jimmy took the customers to the Natural Bridges area where he knows of some deep water – perfect for rock cod fishing. They caught early limits of white bellies, canaries and good size vermillion. They landed 3 ling cod weighing about 13-14 pounds. The whales were close by to provide some entertainment. August 27, 2017 Fishing Report

Our customers Mike Kitt and family wanted to fish for Halibut. That is exactly what happened catching a beautiful 18 pounder. After that, Captain Jimmy took them to the Natural Bridges area where they caught limits of a variety of rock fish. Water was nice here in the beautiful Monterey Bay. Everyone had a great time. We went for Salmon today. The Charter fished locally in front of the Santa Cruz Harbor and caught Salmon in 140 feet of water. We landed two but lost four. Bummer. Season closes Sunday July 15th. July 7, 2017 Fishing Report

Everyone had fun today fishing for salmon here in the Monterey Bay. The Charter fished inside the Soquel Hole in 140 foot of water. They caught two nice Salmon and a beautiful vermillion using gold spoons and white hoochies. Three brothers were here vacationing from Indiana and were heading to the Grand Canyon. July 3, 2017 Fishing Report

Go Fish Santa Cruz Charters went fishing today. I mean to say they went catching. Captain Jimmy and Rob took local Jon and his team to the Natural Bridges area where the bite was hot for big rock cod and ling cod. Tyson reported every time they landed a fish the next one was bigger. By 10:30 they had 6 nice ling cod and a variety of rock fish and ready to come in. June 27, 2017 Fishing Report

Our Charter for today wanted to fish for Salmon.  Captain Jimmy had the boat Miss Beth rigged up and ready for the morning trip.  The July hog Salmon  are in. We fished the Pajaro area using herring as bait. Yikes! Holy Cow. I mean Holy Salmon. They had one up to 30 pounds by 8:00AM this morning. Then again, again and again. We have charters available. Anthony and family came to town to fish from Fresno. When they left home it was 112 degrees. We thought me made need to put them through decompression here in Santa Cruz but they were fine. The Charter today went to the Islands looking for the big fish. Turns out the water was too cold and the bite was not as good as usual. Yikes! What fun! Today Captain Jimmy and Rob the best Captain and Deckhand ever took the boat, Miss Beth, to the Natural Bridges area for a great day of fishing. Better yet a great day of catching. We had a charter today with six people from as far as Austin Texas. After trying to find some salmon we again moved on for rock cod. We had a family charter today. Captain Jimmy and Rob took them to the Natural Bridges area. The morning bite was slow but picked up in the afternoon. They caught almost limits to nice rock fish consisting of blues blacks and olives as well as some nice vermillion. Dale won the prize for the biggest fish – some smoked salmon (his favorite) . What a great day of fishing!!!! Not only was it beautiful in the Monterey Bay but water flat and calm. We got a tip from Todd at Bayside Marine about a hot bite in the Soldiers Club area of the Monterey Bay. Out we went with a full boat of six. They had limits by 11AM. April 26, 2017 Fishing Report

The Charter today was with Tom and Di Langell, Curtis Golden and Randy Parker. What fun they had. The water was beautiful, flat and calm. The weather was perfect. And they caught beautiful salmon. Six nice ones. Captain Jimmy took the boat Miss Beth to the tip of the Soquel Hole. They used gold hammered spoons. Sad to report they lost eight fish right at the boat. Yikes!!!!  Today was wide open. The Charter fished the Marina area south of Monterey. They had crew limits by 10AM. The salmon varied in size weighing between 15-20 pounds. When confirming their charter the customers here from Sacramento asked ‘Where can we get good sushi?’ Well – they better call their friends because they can make a lot themselves. Yahoo Salmon Season is here! Today our customers had a fantastic day fishing locally here in the Monterey Bay. Captain Jimmy Rubin reported five Salmon caught and landed two nice ones. December 30, Fishing Report

Our customers had a blast fishing today here in the Monterey Bay. Jim and friends have fished with Captain Jimmy Rubin in the past on The Becky Ann and was anxious to see him at the wheel of Miss Beth. Joe and his wife were here from Chicago and appreciated the weather here as opposed of the conditions in their home town. They all had a great time catching limits of quality rock cod consisting of blues and blacks. The Crab Pots yielded 18 big Dungeness Crab. Sounds like a delicious New Years Eve dinner. After being idle for a few days due to bad weather and big ocean swells we fished locally with Robert and his friends. The weather and water was great. So was the fishing. They caught almost limits of a variety of rock fish including blues, blacks and vermillion. They stopped and pulled crab pots which yielded 17 big tasty Dungeness Crab. Everyone had a great time. Today’s charter was questionable not only due to rain but water conditions. While the charter was put on hold we got a call reporting conditions were fine. November 23, 2016 Fishing Report

It was another great day fishing here in the Monterey Bay. Our fishing combo trip was with Dave and his family here in town for the Holiday. We can report the family will have a bountiful of fresh Dungeness Crab on the table. If you are lucky maybe he will invite you over because they have 38 crab. Rock Cod fishing was not as productive but the family has enough to serve fish tacos to the neighborhood. The whales were out there. The dolphins were jumping and entertaining. The blue fin tuna were running but that is exactly what they were doing – running. They are not biting. The water was a little bumpy in early morning but by late morning it was ‘very nice’. Our Combo Rock Cod and Crab Charter today was with Robert and his family from Lake Tahoe. They couldn’t have picked a nicer day to fish the Monterey Bay. We fished locally and caught quality limits of a variety of Rock Fish and a beautiful Ling Cod. These fish are truly a monster looking fish from the sea, and are fun to catch but better yet to eat. November 14, 2016 Fishing Report

There has been a big swell in the Monterey Bay making us watch and wait for fishable days. Today our charter had a great time and was very happy with their catch. They brought in 33 big Dungeness Crab and proceeded to get some nice rock cod. Can you say yummy? We have charters available for both combo trips and crab only. Our charter today was with our regular Mark. They went to Franklin Point. The water and weather was as nice as it gets. As was the fishing. They caught quality rockfish consisting of blues, blacks and vermillion. Captain Jimmy Rubin says the blues were huge. Big. Can’t remember if he’s ever seen them that big. The ling cod was at least 18 pounds. No reason to brag about the 30-35 pounder lost right at the boat. But they did. There were dolphins playing and whales spouting. Thanks Mark. We had a Fishing Charter today with a team of five from San Jose. The boat took them up the coast where the water has a lot of rock formation and the fish are big and bountiful. September 18, 2016 Fishing Report

It was Girl’s Day on the Bay today. Not a charter but a family and girlfriend fishing trip. We went up the coast and found almost limits of a variety of rock cod. I had a big ling cod that came off at the boat. Amanda was the star bringing in doubles more often than not. Leesie, my sister, had the fewest. She came clean and told us she ate a banana just before boarding. I’ve heard no bananas on the boat as it is bad luck but never just eating one. It was beautiful up the coast. What fun. Today our charter was with the Sippl Family and everyone had a blast. After fishing together for years they said ‘We have never caught so many fish’. Today was an absolute blast. Our charter was a Birthday celebration with the Mohsen Family. They wanted to do something special and go to Franklin Point. Their Birthday wish was to catch Ling Cod. We fished locally today with a returning customer, the Kei Family, and Calvin here from Texas. It was a morning charter and was described as an absolute gorgeous day here in Santa Cruz. What fun it was today. The bite was hot hot hot. We fished locally with Justin and his girlfriend from Grass Valley. The weather was beautiful here in the Monterey Bay. They caught early limits of quality blues, blacks, olives and yellow tail. The Pacific Red Snapper was also biting. The dolphins were out jumping and playing to add to the entertainment. Today’s charter was with the Rudolph a local family celebrating Brad’s Birthday for three days now. Miss Beth the 30′ Island Hopper took them to Franklin Point where they caught limits of big quality Pacific Snapper, blue, black and olive Rock Cod. They landed two nice ling cod. Today our charter was with Kei, his family and friends. You couldn’t find a nicer day to fish the beautiful Monterey Bay. The weather and water was perfect. They caught limits short by 10 of quality Pacific Snapper, blacks, blues and yellow rock cod. There was a 15 pound ling cod that got everyone excited. August 4, 2016 Fishing Report

Our Charter today with Tom and his family went to Franklin Point. The water was a little bumpy but very fishable. They caught a couple of nice ling cods and limits of big rock fish including blues, olives and blacks. Everyone had a great time. It was a beautiful day here in the Monterey Bay. July 30, 2016 Fishing Report

What fun a fun day. Today the Charter went to Ana Nuevo aka the Islands with Mark and his team. John was the champ catching big quality fish faster than others. He sat in the corner minding his own business but we think he was just being more attentive than the others. Regardless, they caught 10 big Ling Cod, big ground fish including big vermillion and school fish consisting of blacks, blues and olives. BIG ones. The water was beautiful, flat and calm. July 21, 2016 Fishing Report

Today our charter went up the coast and found a it to be windy with rough waters. We came back down hill and caught some nice rock cod and ling cod. We did a couple in shore drifts and pulled in a nice halibut. Overall it was a fun and beautiful day on the Monterey Bay. Fishing locally here is Santa Cruz is a blast. Come join us. July 19, 2016 Fishing Report

Don and his family from Stockton fished with us today. They caught near limits of a variety of rock cod including blacks, blues and yellow tail. While it did get a little windy mid-day it was a beautiful day on the Monterey Bay here in Santa Cruz. We have charters available – check our availability calendar. Our boat has been busy and we took a day for general maintenance so we don’t have a fishing report. Salmon season closes July 15th. July 10, 2016 Fishing Report

Mark and his son from Davis as well as Matt, a local angler, fished on the Miss Beth. We went up the coast again and had early limits of Rock Cod consisting of big Vermillion, yellow tail, blues and blacks. We also 4 ling cod and 1 halibut. Today our Charter was with Lisa and her family from Stockton. We went up the coast again and had limits for 4 plus 1 crew by 11AM. The Rock Cod consisted of blacks, blue and yellow tail. We had another great day on Monterey Bay. We fished up the coast and had easy limits by 11AM of nice rock cod consisting of blacks, yellows and olives. There was a nice 8 pound ling cod as well. We fished locally today on the beautiful Monterey Bay off the coast of Santa Cruz. The ocean swell was down and the water was beautiful. Our customer today was Ed and his friends from Santa Clara. They had limits of quality rock cod consisting of blacks, vermillion and olives. They also caught mackerel which they plan to smoke. The dolphins were out for some additional entertainment. Today our charter was with Rob Pierce, his family and friend. We had planned a trip to Ano Nuevo but the swell in the Monterey Bay kept us local. June 27, 2016 Fishing Report

Our charter today was with the Lewinski Family. We fished locally in the beautiful Monterey Bay off Santa Cruz due to an ocean swell. We had limits of Rock Cod consisting of olives, blues, blacks and vermillion by 11:30. We had a few Ling Cod come unbuttoned right at the boat. They are out there and biting. June 26, 2016 Fishing Report

Today we fished locally in the beautiful Monterey Bay. There was a swell but we managed to bring in 3 Ling Cod weighing 12-14 pounds. We released 6 as they were too short. The charter also caught quality Rock Cod. We used live mackerel and sardines caught yesterday in the bay for the charter. The mackerel and sardines are plentiful right now. We can take you fishing for these as it is fun and productive. While we did not get halibut today they are out there and good size. The weather is suppose to get better and we plan to do a long distance run in the near future. Everyone had a blast. We have charters available. Come fish with us and you will too. Our Charter today was with Bill Roberts and his family. The water was a little bumpy so we stayed local. June 18, 2016 Fishing Report

Our charter today was here from Texas. They wanted to bring in Dungeness Crab, fish for Rock Cod and go Whale Watching. That is exactly what we did. First stop was to pull the crab pots and unloaded 40 crab. Yummy. Then up the coast on the beautiful Monterey Bay. While there was a swell on the water we still caught some Rock Cod and a beautiful Ling Cod. Everyone was happy. Today’s charter was productive and an absolute blasts. A family of four teenage brothers fished with their neighbor John. When asked if they knew it was Mother’s Day they responded – “YES”. It was her treat do be without them so she could do want she wanted to do. They landed seven nice Kings. I think they are making dinner tonight. Thanks Liz and John. Come fish with us.

May 7, 2016 Fishing Report

We had a girls day on the bay today. Five us went whale watching – Melissa, Jean, Carol, Dar as well as Miss Beth. The whales were abundant near Natural Bridges. We saw it all. Tales, breeching, babies and even smelled one who spouted next to us. My sister thought it was one of us on board until JT explained the whales do stink. We had a blast. April 9, 2016 Fishing Report

Light winds and swell with some showers are forecasted until mid week when a more significant storm rolls in and may keep anglers at the docks. The bottom fish season is open and early reports are good with lots of action and limits coming from Big Sur and up the coast. Salmon fishing is now open and after one week reports are good for those trolling the East edge of the hole. Dungeness crab season is now open and catch reports have been good. Shore based angling for rockfish, cabezon and ling cod remains open year around. This includes diving using a spear. April 26, 2016 Fishing Report The water conditions and wind has improved. We stopped and pulled Crab Pots and brought in 15 crabs. The wind and swell is suppose to improve by Sunday. Everyone had a blast.
